Acquisition of 100% Share of Lift Able Ltd.

On 3 March 2008 ThyssenKrupp Access Ltd., Stockton-on-Tees, a leader in the supply of accessibility products, completed the acquisition of Lift Able Ltd., Stockton-on-Tees, one of Britain’s largest manufacturers of straight stair-lifts. With this acquisition ThyssenKrupp Access significantly strengthens its market position, providing customers with a wide range of mobility products.

Mauro Carneiro, ThyssenKrupp Access Chairman explained: “With Lift Able we are bringing on board years of experience and expertise in the manufacture of straight stair-lifts. This complements perfectly our already successful range of curved stair-lifts. Joining forces now we will be able to expand further our activities and offer tried-and-tested products not just in the United Kingdom but European markets as well”.

Jim Simmonds, Lift Able’s owner commented: “We are very pleased to have found a strong partner in ThyssenKrupp Access, together we will simply be stronger and it’s our customers who are going to reap the benefits”. With a turnover of over £10 million (15 million Euros) and 87 employees Lift Able Ltd. is one of Europe’s five largest manufacturers of straight stair-lifts.
